Senior/Building Control Surveyor

Job Description
This pivotal role combines technical expertise, regulatory assurance and leadership to support a wide range of developments—from routine projects to complex, high‑profile schemes. You will maintain service excellence, mentor team members and drive continuous improvement within our ISO 9001‑accredited quality management framework.
Your role will involve
* The timely review and assessment of submitted plans for compliance with Building Regulations and relevant standards, and assessment of construction activities via in‑person inspections to ensure compliance.
* Assessing the need for and carrying out statutory and other consultations necessary for projects.
* Assessment of overall compliance with Building Regulations, including issuing appropriate documentation when necessary.
* Maintaining and developing personal competence (SKEB) in relevant subject areas to ensure registration is achieved and maintained.
* Supporting part/completed members of the team to gain the necessary exposure to develop their SKEB and attain appropriate registration.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Registered Building Inspector at Class 3G or 3H level (Class 2F considered).
* Full member of a relevant professional institution (RICS, CABE, CIOB or CIBSE).
* Strong technical knowledge and ability to assess compliance from first principles.
Desired Experience
* Project management of the building control function – managing and planning engagement on major projects.
* Experience of building control in multi‑tenanted commercial buildings or in reviewing fire‑engineered solutions.

Working Location
Hybrid working: average of two days a week from home, with flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring operational needs are met. You need to be based in the UK and within commuting distance to Heathrow.
