I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation and excellent growth record. This is a new, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. The organization boasts a collaborative culture and is supported by a respected commercial team and clinical experts.
The role is an individual sales contributor position, primarily remote, focusing on the UK and Western Europe. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales track record in the region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Developing and implementing business strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs
* Using Salesforce to track client activities and update management
* Leading and managing the sales process for leads
* Overseeing proposal development to align with client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
* Providing input to marketing strategies
* Contributing to sales targets and strategies development
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource securing
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Maximizing opportunities with internal research staff
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business
