GSL Education are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to work with schools in Newcastle, ensuring lessons run smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher and supporting students to stay focused and engaged.
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will supervise whole classes using pre-prepared lesson materials, maintain positive behaviour, and help students complete tasks in a structured and supportive environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Supervise classes during teacher absence using provided lesson plans.
* Maintain positive behaviour and classroom discipline in line with school policies.
* Ensure students complete work set and remain on task.
* Provide clear instructions and support where required.
* Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
Requirements of Cover Supervisor:
* Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* Confidence in leading a class independently.
* A proactive and reliable approach to work.
* A commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
