Head of Product Management - Savings, Mortgages book - FinTech
Based: Birmingham or London
Hybrid - 3 days a week
The Head of Product will provide both hands-on delivery as well as strategic leadership and oversight of the bank’s product portfolio (savings and mortgages), ensuring it delivers sustainable growth, customer value, and competitive advantage in line with the bank’s vision and regulatory obligations.
You would be accountable for defining and executing the product strategy, overseeing the development and lifecycle management of products, and ensuring they meet the evolving needs of customers, stakeholders, and regulators.
This is a hands-on leader role, joining as a key contributor to the SLT and an active player in the bank’s go-to-market strategy. You will work collaboratively across business units including risk, compliance, operations, technology, and commercial teams to deliver innovative, compliant, and profitable products.
Foster a culture of customer-centricity and digital innovation, ensuring product propositions are simple, accessible, and aligned to market trends and regulatory requirements.
The role will drive governance, financial performance, and risk management of the product suite, ensuring products remain commercially viable, operationally sound, and socially responsible while supporting the bank’s strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
* Define and execute the product strategy for savings and mortgages in alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
* Oversee product lifecycle management from concept through launch, maintenance, and retirement.
* Lead as a hands-on contributor within the SLT and influence bank-wide go-to-market and product propositions.
* Collaborate with risk, compliance, operations, technology, and commercial teams to deliver innovative and compliant products.
* Foster customer-centricity and digital innovation in product propositions and ensure alignment with market trends and regulatory requirements.
* Govern governance, financial performance, and risk management of the product suite; ensure commercial viability and operational soundness.
Qualifications
* Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies aligned to business goals and regulatory requirements.
* Commercial awareness with experience of managing P&L and driving profitability.
* Knowledge of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies in banking.
* Expertise in product lifecycle management from concept through launch, maintenance, and retirement.
* Proven leadership with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior and board level.
* Ability to foster cross-functional collaboration with technology, operations, compliance, and commercial teams.
