JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK and we are looking for experienced PAT Engineers with the necessary equipment and insurance to join our team in Kilburn Park. We provide a contractor handbook, commercial contract, branded clothing, labels and technical support.

* Employment Type: Self‑employed PAT Engineers can be from any background.
* Education Level: City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent.
* Experience: Proven competence in line with the C&G standard.
* Job Location: Kilburn Park & commutable areas.
* Commute: Reasonable commuting distance to Kilburn Park; engineers may travel nationally.
* Salary: Discussion per job at booking.
We offer flexible hours and self‑employment contracts, allowing part‑time or full‑time engagement. Compensation is pro‑rata based on the rate per appliance, the number of tests and job dynamics. Projects range from one‑day tasks to long‑term contracts.
Typical responsibilities include:
* Travel to client sites (hospitals, retail outlets, offices) and conduct portable appliance testing (PAT) for a variety of electrical items such as microwaves, kettles, computers, etc.
* Use test instruments to verify safety, generate test reports and provide completion certificates.
* Advise users on results and explain any appliance deficiencies.
* Maintain all testing equipment in good working order and in compliance with regulations.
* Manage time efficiently, moving between sites alone or as part of a team.
Requirements: reliable, honest, with a “can‑do” attitude and willingness to travel as needed. Must have transport, suitable equipment, and hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
