Director, Risk Consulting
The Opportunity EY’s Risk Consulting Practice helps organisations navigate complex risk landscapes by providing insight and technology-enabled solutions across risk management, internal audit and internal controls and controls transformation. We partner with Boards and Executives to deliver assurance over key risks and drive transformations, delivering tailored risk offerings that place client value and relationships at the forefront. Our Risk team is built on curiosity, innovation and collaboration, with growth opportunities, inclusive culture and hybrid working. This senior leadership role is suited to a driven, passionate individual with an established network and success in opportunity generation and sales.
Responsibilities
 * Business Development: Leverage established networks across key sectors to identify, pursue and convert opportunities, including proposal development and thought leadership.
 * Engagement Delivery: Lead and own the delivery of Risk Consulting engagements (e.g., risk management, internal audit, UK Corporate Reform, SOX 404, controls transformation), ensuring projects meet client expectations and identify additional opportunities.
 * Agility: Balance sales activity with engagement management and self-start as needed.
 * Trusted Advisor: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, navigating complex regulations (e.g., UK Corporate Reform, US SOX, Global Internal Audit Standards) and advising on how these impact internal controls and reporting obligations.
 * Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding needs and delivering tailored solutions.
 * Process & Controls Leadership: Lead across process and controls solutions, develop talent, and foster a positive team culture.
 * Solution Development: Develop new and enhance existing risk and controls offerings, including governance and policy development.
 * Quality and Risk Management: Demonstrate compliance with quality and risk management principles.
 * Business Acumen: Understand the broader business context, including financial, operational, regulatory and strategic considerations.
 * Learning and Development: Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
 * Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal and client teams to drive integrated risk management solutions.
 * Team Mentorship: Mentor and develop Risk professionals to support growth and team culture.
 * Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes and risk best practices.
 * Performance Excellence: Monitor engagement metrics and KPIs to deliver high-quality outcomes.
 * Communication: Communicate effectively, adapting style to stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships.

Qualifications
 * Industry Expertise: Demonstrable expertise in risk, processes and controls with agility across solutions and sectors.
 * Business Development: Proven success in identifying and converting opportunities with experience in proposals and thought leadership.
 * Relationships: Experience building relationships with C-suite executives and discussing complex risk solutions with confidence.
 * Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK Corporate Reform and US SOX compliance, guiding clients on regulatory impacts.
 * Communication Skills: Excellent presentation and stakeholder communication skills.
 * Leadership: Ability to inspire, develop and motivate teams and foster collaboration and growth.
 * Ethical Standards: Commitment to ethics and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
 * Proactive Learning: Self-starter with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
 * Adaptability: Ability to navigate changing regulatory environments and emerging risks.
 * Audit & Accounting Experience: Experience bringing external audit and financial accounting insights to engagements.
 * Systems Expertise: Knowledge of core systems (e.g., SAP and Oracle) to identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
 * Transformation and Digital Solutions: Experience driving transformation and deploying digital solutions for complex client problems.
 * Qualifications: Relevant professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent).
