SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant
Location: Bath (BA2)
Contract: Full Time, Monday - Friday (term time)
Are you a skilled Teaching Assistant with a commitment to supporting children with additional learning needs? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEN Specialist TA to work within a dedicated resource base connected to a mainstream primary school. This full-time position allows you to play a key role in helping pupils reach their potential within a nurturing and highly organised setting.
The Role
This position involves working in a specialist provision supporting pupils with complex learning needs. Key aspects include:
* Supporting pupils within a specialist resource base attached to a mainstream primary school
* Working predominantly with autistic pupils, many of whom are high functioning and require highly personalised support
* Small class environments (around 8–10 pupils), enabling a high level of individual attention
* Providing 1:1 support, including assisting pupils who may present challenging behaviours
* Following clear, well-established behaviour support plans with guidance from a specialist team
* Immediate start, continuing until the end of the academic year
The Ideal Candidate
This role would suit someone who:
* Has previous experience supporting pupils with SEN
* Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
* Can quickly build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Is confident and consistent when supporting behavioural needs, with a calm and compassionate approach
* Demonstrates resilience, patience and initiative
* Thrives in a collaborative team-focused environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
