Recruitment and Publicity Officer (Family Placement Team - Fostering) - 05409
West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Publicity and Recruitment Officer to join the Family Placement Team, Fostering. This fixed‑term role supports the recruitment and publicity activities for fostering, helping to recruit and place foster carers to ensure children in care receive support and nurturing.
Responsibilities
* Implement effective recruitment strategies to attract new foster carers
* Develop and deliver engaging publicity materials to promote fostering
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximise recruitment opportunities
* Monitor and evaluate recruitment activities, providing regular reports on progress
* Support the Team Manager in ensuring high‑quality placements for children in care
* Contribute to driving successful recruitment of foster carers to improve outcomes for children and young people in West Berkshire
Qualifications and skills
* Experience in a similar role with understanding of fostering and related challenges
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate potential foster carers
* Strong organisational and time management abilities to manage multiple priorities
* Creative flair to produce engaging publicity materials
* Self‑motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Term and location
Fixed term until 31/03/2027 – funding for a limited project.
