Weymouth Town Council is looking for a Resort Officer & Events Support to join the Resort Team and help support the day-to-day running of Weymouth Seafront.

This role plays an important part in helping keep the seafront running smoothly for residents, visitors and local businesses. Working as part of the Resort Team, you’ll help manage daily operations along the promenade and beach areas, support the beach office during the busy summer season, and work with colleagues, seasonal staff and partners to ensure the seafront is safe, welcoming and well managed.

The role is varied and changes through the year depending on the needs of the service. You’ll be part of the same overall team, but your focus will shift between resort operations during the busy summer season and supporting the Council’s events programme at other times of the year.

During the summer months, the role will mainly support the day-to-day running of the seafront. This includes working from the beach office, helping supervise seasonal staff and making sure the promenade and beach areas are safe, clean and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Outside of the peak season, there will be more opportunity to support the planning and delivery of events taking place on Council land throughout the year. This can include helping with event bookings, administration and on-the-day event support.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, comfortable dealing with the public and able to work flexibly across different tasks as the role changes through the year.

You’ll be able to flex your time to meet the needs of the role using time off in lieu. The Council is open to discussions around compressed hours, term time hours, job shares, and other flexible patterns to support you.
