Legacy Leisure operates five leisure facilities across the Vale of Glamorgan working in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council. This position is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join the Legacy Leisure team as part of the Wales and South West Region. Reporting to the Contract Manager the successful candidate will be required to take overall responsibility for the effective management and operation of three Leisure facilities, which in the past few years have all had significant investment to enhance the product and service on offer: The Opportunity Legacy Leisure is a well established business that is continuously growing. Barry Leisure Centre is a large leisure facility operating with two gyms (One recently opened), two group exercise studios, six court sports hall, main and learner swimming pools. The facility has also seen lots of improvement works in the last few years, a full gym refurbishment, including a new spin studio and in the last few weeks a new Strength Gym opens as an extension to the main centre. Colcot Sports Centre is a dryside facility with a recently resurfaced 4 court sports hall and two 7 a side & four 5 a side 3G pitches outside. Llantwit Leisure Leisure Centre is a facility with a CV gym, studios, four court sports hall and a 18m pool. This site has just seen major investment in it's changing and toilet area, along with a new sports hall resurface. Primary Objectives To input into and implement the centre budget for the business. To consistently enhance both the financial performance and usage of the sites To ensure the effective running of the leisure facilities for the community. To manage, develop and co-ordinate staff resources effectively to meet the operational requirements of the site and to create a dynamic, innovative and responsive staff team through open communication and leadership. Monitor the performance of the operation through the proper Company accounting and reporting procedures. Increase the company's image and credibility. Take responsibility for health and safety and actively participate in the maintenance and improvement of the overall Company health and safety culture. Be technically able and play a proactive role in securing new business. Ensure standards are at the highest level and that the NPS is good or better aligned to industry standards. Focus day to day Oversee the smooth running of the facilities. Achieve and exceed budget Ensure that the buildings are presented at the highest levels of cleanliness. To develop a programme that will attract increased usage from the local community. To consistently develop and improve operational procedures. To develop and maintain quality assured procedures for all aspects of the facilities operations Build and maintain a sound organisational structure, recruiting, training and motivating staff within the sites. Effectively implement and monitor the company's Health and Safety policy and associated procedures. To implement the Group's Environmental Management Policy. The Person Previous managerial experience in excess of three years and a proven track record of delivering on KPI's is essential. You should be able to manage and develop staff efficiently to meet the operational requirements of the Contract Extensive knowledge of the safe operation of swimming pools and the leisure industry. A recognised qualification in Leisure Management is desirable. The following qualifications would be advantageous but again not essential; Health & Safety Competent Persons, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), Pool Plant Operators (PPO) Will be able to gain acceptance and respect from clients and the teams involved. Will be able to demonstrate financial awareness, medium term business planning as well as clear-sighted operational management ability. Will be reliable and confident in making key decisions within the contract. Will be able to demonstrate excellent planning and time management ability. Will be able to proactively resolve day-to-day operational issues. Will be able to adapt the management style and thinking process to the needs of the business. Will be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees. Will be able to maintain and be committed to good employee culture and deliver quality training.
