Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assessor / Trainer in Civil Engineering to join a collaborative and friendly team, supporting students in a well-established further education college. This role is ideal for someone with strong industry experience who is passionate about supporting apprentices to succeed and progress within the construction sector.
You will manage a caseload of learners, providing high-quality training, coaching, and assessment while working closely with employers to ensure apprentices develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to complete their apprenticeship successfully and on time.
Key Duties
Manage a caseload of apprentices from enrolment through to completion Deliver training, coaching, and assessment in the workplace and on-site Carry out regular progress reviews with learners and employers Support learners to build portfolios and prepare for gateway and end-point assessment (EPA) Work closely with employers to plan meaningful training activities Maintain accurate learner records and tracking in line with quality standards Ensure off-the-job training requirements are planned and monitored Promote safeguarding, equality, and organisational values Contribute to team meetings, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
Key Skills and Experience Required
Occupational competence and industry experience in Civil Engineering Experience assessing or training apprentices, or strong industry experience with a willingness to train Level 3 TAQA qualification (or willingness to work towards) Strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills Understanding of apprenticeship standards and EPA processes Willingness to travel between sites and employer locations
