Employment Solicitor (2 years') A respected full-service Scottish law firm is seeking an Employment Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE to join its busy Employment team based in Edinburgh. About the Role The Employment team advises a diverse client base, including SMEs and charities, on a wide range of employment law matters. You will provide practical, high-quality advice to employers and individuals on issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, terminations, redundancies, mergers, reorganisations, and settlement agreements. The role also involves tribunal representation for both claimants and respondents and supporting corporate teams with employment-related matters. Key Responsibilities Advising employers on all aspects of employment law including contracts, policies, disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancies, and organisational changes Advising individuals on settlement agreements, exit negotiations and related employment disputes Representing clients at Employment Tribunals Providing employment law support to corporate and commercial property teams Training and supervising junior staff Keeping up to date with legal developments and firm-wide services Supporting business development through client relationship management and marketing initiatives Raising the profile of the employment team through networking and cross-selling Candidate Profile Minimum 2 years’ PQE with solid employment law experience Strong technical legal knowledge and practical application skills Confident working independently and managing a varied caseload Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Proactive, organised, and commercially aware Proven networking skills and motivation to grow a client base On Offer Initially office-based, with flexible hybrid working options considered after a settling-in period 25 days annual leave plus 9 fixed holidays Enhanced maternity and paternity pay Discounted legal fees Support for career development This role offers the chance to join a supportive and professional environment committed to employee growth and wellbeing.
