The client works exclusively in the property sector. Primarily, they act in a client/end user role in the new build and refurbishment of residential properties across England and Wales.
Responsibilities and Duties
The primary purpose of the role is to implement refurbishment and new build activities on behalf of the organisation to achieve its objectives within budget.
The Assistant Project Manager works closely with the Project Manager and the project management team to ensure all targets are met.
Profitability is of prime importance; thus, the Assistant Project Manager will monitor project costs and ensure contractual obligations of contractors are fulfilled.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Implement strategies related to new build and refurbishment activities to meet objectives within budgets.
2. Assist in procurement processes, including tendering and evaluations for main contract works.
3. Monitor appointed contractors' activities against contractual obligations and report to the Project Manager and team.
4. Maintain quality and standards, adhering to Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
Ensure timely and accurate data provision to inform managers about progress and financial performance, complying with company policies.
Desired Skills and Experience
We seek someone with solid experience in a similar role, coupled with ambition and passion to learn and grow within the business.
* Post-qualification experience in a Project Management or related role within the construction industry.
* Excellent attention to detail and IT skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in budgeting and cost management is advantageous.
* Previous experience in residential construction is preferred, but candidates from other sectors with relevant skills will be considered.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* Degree or equivalent qualification is required.
