Vision for Education are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated teaching assistant to join a Welsh-medium primary school in Barry. Recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by ESTYN, this school is looking for someone to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and help enhance their learning experience.
You will be supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2, working both on a 1:1 basis and with small groups. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a positive and nurturing approach to learning.
The school is keen to appoint someone who complements the school’s ethos and is committed to helping provide the very best educational experience for all learners.
Key responsibilities:
9. Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis to engage them in learning
10. Assisting the class teacher with daily preparation and classroom activities
11. Supervising pupils during lunch breaks
12. Completing general administrative duties
13. Working as part of a dynamic team and contributing to the school’s culture and ethos
14. Being passionate about providing children with the best possible education experience
What we are looking for:
15. The ability to speak Welsh is essential, as this is a Welsh-medium primary school
16. An enthusiastic individual with a genuine passion for education
17. A strong interest in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning
18. Previous experience working with children or young people
19. The ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and effective way
20. Professional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
21. A good general standard of education (GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and basic IT proficiency
