We are recruiting on behalf of a leading distributor in the electrical and engineering supply sector, seeking a motivated Area Sales Manager to cover South Wales and the Bristol region. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and respected organisation with a strong footprint across the UK and international markets.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing sales within a defined regional territory, representing a comprehensive range of electrical and engineering products. You will maintain and grow existing customer relationships across sectors such as Electrical Contracting, Engineering, Generator OEMs, Renewables (including Wind Farms), and Oil & Gas, while proactively identifying new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and expand an existing customer base throughout South Wales and Bristol.
* Proactively identify and secure new sales opportunities to increase regional market share.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across various industries.
* Collaborate with internal teams to deliver excellent customer service and support.
* Track and report on regional sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity.
* Work in partnership with the Regional Manager to align on strategic objectives and key account plans.
* Oversee the sales cycle from enquiry to order, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in field-based B2B sales, ideally within electrical, cable, or technical product sectors (preferred but not essential).
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Self-starter with a target-driven mindset and excellent time management skills.
* Professional communicator with a strong customer-focused approach.
* Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and nurture long-term client relationships.
