Full time vacancy Monday - Friday 10:30am - 6:30pm.

We are a well-established GP practice located in Langley, Middleton, Manchester, proudly serving a vibrant and diverse population of 9,058 patients. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and organised individual to join our reception and admin team. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in providing friendly and efficient service both face-to-face and over the phone.
* What we’re looking for: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong IT and administrative abilities; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks; a team player with a positive, can-do attitude; previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting (desirable but not essential).
Responsibilities
Main duties of the job
* To work in accordance with written protocols
* Carry out general reception duties
* Take accurate messages and deal with them promptly and appropriately
* Make appointments/cancel appointments/book in patients using the clinical system
* Liaise with outside agencies and other healthcare professionals whilst maintaining confidentiality
* Scanning documents into patient records (EMIS clinical system)
* Respond and send emails regarding patient care
* Assist in the process for requests of Patient medical records following policies relating to GDPR
* Provide admin support as required
* Record information accurately; training to input data into computer system supplied
* Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail
* Receive deliveries of stock and stationery and take appropriate action
* Receiving patients consulting with members of Practice team
* Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patients and checking names and addresses
* Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
* Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person
* Deal with visits requests
* Process patients’ change of address computer data and medical records (knowledge of Practice area)
* Process a request for repeat prescription in accordance with Practice guidelines
* Have attention to detail
* Ensure building security; have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm

Job Description
Job responsibilities
Administration
* To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures
* To work in accordance with written protocols
* Carry out general reception duties

* Greet patients on arrival and book them in
* Register patients on the clinical system; fully registered, temporary residents or immediately necessary

* Notes summarising

* Deal with enquiries and refer to appropriate person

Qualifications

* Essential Qualifications: Good general education including GCSE (A-C level) or equivalent in English and Maths
* Fast and accurate keyboard skills
