About the Role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our busy Endoscopy Team. Experience in Endoscopy is desirable but not essential. The unit is a modern, JAG accredited, 7‑room facility that performs over 17,000 procedures per year. The successful candidate will support Consultant Gastroenterologists, Consultant Surgeons and nurse endoscopists, assisting with procedures and caring for patients before, during and after their procedures.
Working Hours
Shift-based between 8am and 7pm, 6 days a week including bank holidays (excluding Christmas Day). Saturdays/Bank holidays are rostered with a day off in lieu.
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of the nursing care for a named caseload of patients.
* Assist in creating a therapeutic environment for patients, relatives and carers.
* Adhere to Wirral Hospital objectives, policies, protocols and guidelines.
* Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Contribute to a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of care and implementation of change.
* Participate in audits.
* Continuously update own skills and knowledge and maintain awareness of clinical issues.
* Act as shift coordinator in the absence of the Ward/Departmental Manager or their deputy.
* Act as a preceptor, Practice Assessor/Supervisor and/or NVQ assessor to junior staff and students.
* Supervise and lead a team of junior staff.

Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse electively with JAG accreditation preferred.
* Experience working in Endoscopy desirable but not essential.
