Location: Brent, North West London
Contract: Full Time Term Time Only
Start Date: As Soon As Possible

An inclusive and forward thinking school in the London Borough of Brent is seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is passionate about making a meaningful difference to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally within a supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers SENCOs and external professionals to support pupils with a range of additional needs including autism ADHD speech and language difficulties and social emotional mental health needs. Support may be delivered on a one to one basis or within small groups depending on individual pupil requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored in class and targeted intervention support to pupils with SEND
Support pupils to access the curriculum adapt learning activities and remove barriers to learning
Implement strategies to support behaviour regulation emotional wellbeing and positive engagement
Assist with the delivery of personalised education plans and EHCP outcomes
Promote independence confidence and inclusion within the classroom and wider school community
Support assessment observation and recording of pupil progress
Work collaboratively with teachers parents carers and external agencies

The School Is Looking For
A patient empathetic and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience supporting children with SEND in a primary or secondary setting is desirable
A strong understanding of behaviour support and de escalation strategies
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A flexible and reflective approach to supporting diverse learner needs
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
