An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Transport Planner. As a Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in managing our daily transport operations, ensuring vehicles, drivers, and collections are planned efficiently and safely. You'll work closely with drivers, site teams, and customers to deliver excellent service while supporting our commitment to sustainability and compliance.
· Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily transport activities to maximise fleet efficiency.
· Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
· Monitor vehicle movements, driver hours, and ensure full compliance with transport legislation.
· Resolve operational issues promptly, such as delays or changes to schedules.
· Maintain accurate transport documentation and records.
· Support the Transport and Operations teams with continuous improvement initiatives.
· Uphold N-Virocycle's standards for safety, service, and environmental responsibility.
· Daily planning and scheduling of vehicles for collections, incorporating maintenance and repair requirements
· Able to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively
· Create a calm working environment under pressure
· Liaising with the transport manager on any issues/problems that arise throughout the day and ensuring they are dealt with in a timely manner
· Working and encouraging team members to ensure the success of the business
· Proactively communicate with customers on any issues causing a delay in collections
· All duties to be completed in line with N-Virocycle policies and procedures as laid out in the Company Management System PAS99:2012

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and confident in a fast-paced environment. You'll have a strong eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of transport operations.
· Essential skills and experience
· Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or fleet management.
· Knowledge of UK transport regulations, working time directives, and vehicle compliance.
· Strong IT skills, including route planning systems and Microsoft Office.
· Excellent problem-solving and multitasking ability.
· A team player who can work independently when required.
· Strong geographical knowledge of England and Wales.
· Good attention to detail
· A desire for proactiveness and innovative thinking
Desirable
· Experience in the waste management, recycling, or environmental services industry.
· TM CPC qualification or working towards one.
· RHA / FTA – Various related to gaining experience in transport to achieve:

· 12 – 18 months within a transport background
