Ara Community Engagement Lead (Gambling Treatment Service)
We have immediate need for a Community Engagement Lead, working within our Gambling Service. This position is full-time (35 hours per week).
Based – Hybrid Role – North Wales (Bangor Office)
Covering Areas – Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy & surrounding areas on occasion
Salary – £30,348 (Permanent Contract)
We are looking for an individual who has a passion for service development, engaging with other organisations over joint outcomes and reducing gambling harm.
The role is to work as part of a team promoting a greater understanding of gambling harms and creating partnerships within communities to tackle them. Community Engagement Leads will work in a hybrid way, utilising partnerships to work within the community as well as at Ara’s new offices across Wales. The successful applicant will also upskill professionals to be able to provide better advice, support and referral opportunities to Ara treatment services.
Some of the key tasks for this role include to:
* Identify and develop community-based partnerships to ensure a joined-up approach to tackling gambling related harms that catches vulnerable clients earlier.
* Improve Ara’s outreach into regional communities by working within local services to raise awareness of gambling harms, educating communities, and facilitating improved access for people to early engagement.
* Providing Brief Interventions to individuals identified as experiencing harms from gambling, providing information, advice and guidance and facilitating a referral into further support.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have excellent communication skills, be proactive, and be able to work as part of a team.
* Have experience developing partnerships between organisations.
* Ideally be Welsh speaking.
