Overview
The Housing Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the management and operations of residential properties. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively negotiate agreements, manage tenant relations, and ensure compliance with housing regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a thorough understanding of property management software, particularly Yardi.
Duties
* Manage day-to-day operations of residential properties, ensuring high standards of service and maintenance.
* Negotiate lease agreements and renewals with tenants, fostering positive relationships to enhance tenant satisfaction.
* Oversee property inspections and coordinate maintenance requests to ensure timely resolutions.
* Maintain accurate records of tenant information, lease agreements, and property maintenance using Yardi software.
* Implement marketing strategies to attract new tenants and reduce vacancy rates.
* Ensure compliance with local housing regulations and company policies.
* Prepare regular reports on occupancy rates, financial performance, and maintenance issues for senior management.
Experience
* Proven experience in property management or a related field is essential.
* Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful lease negotiations.
* Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management software is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with tenants, contractors, and team members.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
* Valid UK driving licence (if field-based work is required)
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Housing, Social Work, or related field.
