Department The Global Opportunities team is part of the International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility team within the Global Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions Directorate and manages the University’s portfolio of international student mobility partners and programmes including bespoke short courses for students, open access summer schools and teacher training courses for prospective primary and secondary ELT teachers. These programmes aim to build new international relationships and enhance existing relationships with key University partners across the globe and support University strategy. Role You will teach on our ELT teacher-training programmes for primary and secondary teachers from Hong Kong and China. Your responsibilities will include providing input sessions on English Language Teaching theory, methodology and practice including micro-teaching opportunities for the trainees and conducting tutorials, some of which will involve the integration of language and content study. You will manage groups of teachers throughout a teacher-training programme and provide mentoring and feedback on teaching skills. You will mark and assess written dissertations which are awarded credits by the client university to ensure that they comply with the quality standards of the university. Skills, Experience & Qualification needed You should have a relevant ELT qualification (minimum Cambridge ESOL DELTA, Trinity Diploma TESOL) and experience of English language teaching and teacher-training. You will have worked for educational organisations in the UK and internationally. You will have the ability to design appropriate teacher training materials and deliver teaching methodology sessions. The position also requires the ability to plan, manage, organise and assess your own teaching contributions and provide appropriate feedback to trainees You should have a high level of literacy skills and be a proficient user of office IT software packages, especially the Google Suite.
