Mitie is currently seeking a QHSE Manager to join our team at GE Aerospace.
Main Duties
As the QHSE Manager, your responsibilities include implementing our integrated business management system, identifying and minimizing the risk of accidents, and collaborating with the wider Mitie QHSE team and the on-site client EHS team to develop key business improvements. Additionally, you will maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice, ensure operational managers and personnel possess the necessary technical competence to work safely, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and risk management.
* Ensure the company's Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies are implemented consistently across the organization.
* Maintain and update QHSE documentation, including manuals, policies, procedures, and records.
* Identify new and amended safety requirements and legislation relevant to Mitie and HSE standards.
* Assist in planning and producing health & safety, environmental, and quality documentation, such as construction phase plans, risk assessments, and other relevant reports.
* Support on-site teams in maintaining safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching, and practical support.
* Promote compliance with all QHSE systems and initiatives.
* Provide health and safety awareness training and briefings for employees and contractors.
* Conduct site inspections, audits, safety conversations, and issue reports to management.
* Coordinate corrective actions based on audit findings, participate in safety meetings, and assist in accident investigations.
* Manage the Eco Online reporting system and monitor QHSE performance through inspections and engagement.
* Identify improvements and collaborate with the wider compliance team to enhance the IMS Management System.
* Undertake other duties as required by management.
What We Are Looking For
Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and excellent communication skills. Experience in a commercial role, proficiency in QHSE data analysis, and reporting are essential. You should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and mentor others. Essential qualifications include a NEBOSH Certificate, IEMA Certificate or equivalent, and working towards CMIOSH. Knowledge of risk assessment, management, and experience in a client-facing environment are also crucial.
