The Role of the CNC Machinist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Leicester. The successful CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to manufacture precision-engineered metal components to high quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist looking to join a stable and growing business with long-term career prospects.
You will be working within a fast-paced engineering environment, producing precision components while ensuring all products meet strict quality and specification requirements.
Sector - Precision Engineering / Manufacturing
Key Requirements for the CNC Machinist
* Demonstrated experience in CNC machining and/or a strong academic background in engineering, ideally supported by a recognised machining apprenticeship
* Previous experience working with metal components
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Proficient in conducting self-inspection of machined components using manual measurement tools
* Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience setting and operating CNC machinery
* Knowledge of precision machining techniques
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
* Understanding of engineering tolerances and specifications
* Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Desirable Experience
* Additional Grinding Machinery experience
* Additional EDM (Electrical Discharge Machinery) experience
* Experience with multi-axis CNC machines would be advantageous
* Knowledge of continuous improvement processes
