Description Class 1 Relief Tanker Driver – Job Description Class 1 bulk powder tanker driver collecting and delivering powder products for the construction industry. Ensuring that deliveries are on time and that health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Wincanton operate on behalf of Breedon Cement to provide transport for both bulk powder and palletised deliveries. The contract has a nationwide delivery area with key distribution points at Dagenham, Hope Valley, Runcorn, Walsall and Port of Blyth. The role of the relief tanker driver requires the loading and pressurised discharge of powder products – predominantly cement. The relief driver will be required to provide cover days or nights whilst other drivers are away. To this end, the relief driver must be flexible to travel away from the Dagenham base location to operate a vehicle stationed elsewhere as necessary. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely movement and delivery of our customers’ products, servicing the Construction sector. Ensuring all documentation is completed accurately with attention to detail. Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times. Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements (opt out available). Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, completion of dynamic risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident and damage reporting. To ensure contractual KPI’s over delivery of product is undertaken in both a legally compliant and health and safety manner. Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement. Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day. What will you bring?
