TEMPORARY TEACHER

Blaengwawr Primary School is situated in the community of Aberaman in Aberdare and currently have 225 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 11. The school has strong links with the community and a supportive, pro-active governing body.
The Governing Body of this caring, inclusive school is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, well-organised and enthusiastic practitioner to join our staff team in the autumn term.
The role will include teaching in our Nursery-Reception Unit 2 days per week and in our Year 6 class for 1 day per week on a 0.6 temporary contract. It is expected to be a Monday & Tuesday and a Friday each week but this will be confirmed with the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will:-
•Be an excellent classroom practitioner who is prepared to work hard to ensure the best for each child, inspiring them and encouraging them to reach their full potential through high quality teaching and learning experiences
•Have excellent behaviour management skills
•Develop pupils’ wellbeing and self esteem
•Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and governors
•Seek to explore and share ideas to work with our staff team to embed a bespoke curriculum for Blaengwawr pupils
•Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills
•Good knowledge and experience of working with pupils with additional learning skills
•Join our weekly professional learning sessions on a Monday after school

Shortlisting will be held on 18th June 2026 - Shortlisted candidates will be asked to teach a demonstration lesson prior to the interview. Interviews will be held on 25th June 2026.
