Purchase Ledger Manager Location: Newmarket Full-Time | Permanent Salary: £35,000 £40,000 (Depending on Experience) We are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Manager to join a reputable commercial property investment and development business based in Newmarket. This is a full-time, office-based role offering a great opportunity to take full ownership of the purchase ledger function within a small and supportive finance team. ________________________________________ The Role: This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organised finance professional who is confident managing high volumes of invoices, liaising with suppliers, and supporting broader finance and administrative functions. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in maintaining accuracy, compliance, and the smooth running of the purchase ledger. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: •Process a high volume of purchase orders and invoices •Code and post purchase invoices accurately •Reconcile invoices with supplier reports prior to payment •Liaise with internal teams (e.g. property surveyors) to ensure correct cost allocations •Investigate and resolve supplier disputes and invoice discrepancies •Maintain systematic and accurate financial records and filing •Monitor and maintain schedules for contract renewals •Prepare and execute payment runs with supporting documentation •Manage petty cash transactions and ensure proper recording •Assist with internal queries and provide general support to finance, facilities, and admin teams as needed ________________________________________ What We're Looking For: •AAT qualified (or equivalent experience) •Proven experience in a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable role •Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) •Excellent attention to detail and ability to work methodically •Strong communication and interpersonal skills •Experience in the property sector is advantageous but not essential •A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to manage tasks independently ________________________________________ This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and motivated finance professional looking to join a well-structured and friendly business where you can make a real impact. ________________________________________ Interested?
