Locum Consultant – General Medicine (Ref: NS249335)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague to join our friendly and dynamic department of General Medicine at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. NHS Grampian provides healthcare services to a large population across the region. The General Medical service is a busy department covering three in‑patient wards (ward 105, 110 and 308) and delivering all aspects of general medical care for Grampian and the islands, and any boarded patients within the hospital site.
Responsibilities
* Provide an in‑patient receiving service for General Medicine on a rota system.
* Work weekends and on call as required.
* Deliver high‑quality medical care and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC (licence must be in place prior to starting).
* Ability to work full time on a fixed‑term basis for one year; part‑time post is also possible.
* Enthusiastic and dedicated to providing the best possible service to patients.
Additional Information
* As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
* Commercial note: If the post operates within the Aberdeen City Low Emission Zone, you will be responsible for any associated costs.
