Leonard Brothers Vets, Whitchurch, Whitchurch, North West
Salary up to £75,000 DOE plus up to £5,000 Welcome Bonus plus up to £5,000 Relocation Allowance
This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet looking to join a supportive practice, working in whatever way they feel comfortable. This role is ideal for a solid all‑rounder as well as someone with a surgical bias. You will have access to the expertise of experienced clinicians and multiple certificate holders.
We offer an excellent balance between consults and ops, with every vet having the opportunity to do both consults and surgeries in every shift worked. We provide 15‑minute consults and insert catch‑up slots in between to allow vets to catch‑up if a consult runs over, to write notes, make phone calls, or to discuss cases with other vets.
The Rota
We are looking for either a full‑time or part‑time vet with shifts between 8:30‑6:30 and 8:30‑5:30. We run a form of remote twilight out‑of‑hours shifts in the evenings between 6:30 pm‑9 pm. This is a traditional on‑call rota where you will need to be contactable during those times but do not need to be in practice unless necessary. You will be required to do 1 midweek call every 3 weeks.
Weekends are on a 1:12 (1 every 3 months) schedule and consist of 8:30 am–12:30 pm in practice and then remote on‑call until 5 pm Saturday and full remote on‑call on Sunday 8:30 am until 5 pm, again this is 1 every 3 months. Occasional extra Saturday morning clinics may be required on a rota‑needs basis.
Here’s what the team have to say
“I’ve been working at Leonard Brother's for 6 years after 18 months in mixed practice. Working here was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The team has always been very welcoming and friendly; management are approachable and supportive. I’m able to explore my interests, broaden my skillset and learn new things every day. The team has a diverse range of interests and skills, so there is always someone to ask for opinions on trickier cases and help during surgery. Our diary has a good mix of consulting and procedure time allowing me to work up my own cases and care for my patients in the way I would want for my own pet.” – Alex, Veterinary Surgeon
