Job Title: Night Shift Accommodation Manager
Department: Sites
Reports to: Head of Housing & Head of Allocations
Working Hours: Shift Pattern – Tuesday to Saturday, 9pm–7am
Location: Croydon (with responsibility for all sites remotely)
Salary: £16 per hour, 50 hours per week – Overtime available
The Role
Stef & Philips operates accommodation services across multiple locations, supporting vulnerable individuals and families 24/7. The Night Shift Accommodation Manager is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing night-time operations across all our sites while being based at our Croydon office.
You will act as the central point of contact for all night staff, providing guidance, reassurance, and decision-making support throughout the shift. This includes coordinating responses to incidents, ensuring compliance checks are completed, and escalating urgent matters to senior management or emergency services where required.
The role is not solely about property management – it requires strong people management skills, safeguarding awareness, and crisis management ability. You will work remotely with staff across multiple sites, ensuring they feel supported and that tenants are safe, well cared for, and able to maintain their tenancies during the most challenging hours of the day.
As the out-of-hours lead, you will be expected to balance proactive monitoring (such as compliance checks, staff welfare, and incident prevention) with reactive responses to emergencies (such as fire alarms, anti-social behaviour, or welfare concerns). You will ensure all activity is logged accurately and provide detailed handovers to the Housing and Allocations Teams at the end of each shift.
This is a demanding but rewarding position, ideal for someone who is:
* Confident in making quick, sound decisions under pressure.
* Experienced in housing or care services with a strong understanding of safeguarding.
* Able to lead and support staff remotely across multiple locations.
* Calm, professional, and resilient when dealing with sensitive or high-risk situations.
The Night Shift Accommodation Manager plays a critical role in ensuring Stef & Philips' services remain safe, compliant, and responsive around the clock – safeguarding both our tenants and our staff.
