ostain is both a Major Programme Partner (MPP) and an Asset Renewal Partner (ARP) for Heathrow Airports Ltd under the H7 5-year framework(s). Costain are carrying out both Principal Contractor and Principal Designer roles and responsibilities across these frameworks.

he T2 Baggage Programme is a £500m+ complex baggage and infrastructure programme intended to extend and protect existing T1 baggage operation until the new T2A baggage system has been designed, constructed, tested and is operational.
T
he ARP projects consist of a huge variety of schemes that can cover all aspects of general building works, building services, operational airports and civil engineering to renew, replace or upgrade the existing infrastructure of Heathrow Airport.
T
his role will be to support the works manager to coordinate the safe delivery of all operational activities on site, ensuring Health and Safety, Quality and Environment needs are met along with programme and budget requirements.

ou will take the lead with Ops from Costain and the supply chain to ensure our values are built into their culture and our objectives are achieved, this includes helping them to develop throughout the contract.

his project is mainly sub-contractors managing, there may be some future self-delivery but critical to the role is the management of works, liaising & building relationships with the client.
T

* upervising own labour and subcontractors on site and construction of the works to specification and to programme.

* nsure that details of the safe systems of work developed are communicated to all who will carry out or may be affected by the operation and that the systems are implemented to achieve Target Zero approach to safety.

* lan and maintain safe and tidy work sites, both internally and externally to public areas.
E
* nsure that all machinery, plant, equipment, portable tools and electrical systems are properly installed, regularly inspected and maintained in good condition to minimise environmental damage or pollution and safeguard employees Health and Safety and that adequate records are maintained.

* ontrol of the execution of the Works in a safe and effective manner complying with the requirements of the contract

* dentify, plan and monitor labour needs.

* eliver of the daily briefings and toolbox talks

* nsure that records are kept for work performed, problems experienced, labour force in each area, communications to/from client, sub-contractor and third parties.

* ssisting authors in the production of Risk Assessments Method Statements.

* nvolvement in planning for 4 week look ahead programme and collaborative planning for key activities
