OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The primary objective of this role is to support warehouse operations by ensuring that goods are efficiently picked, checked, and prepared for delivery. The Warehouse Assistant will also be responsible for picking and loading products for trade counter customers in accordance with KPIs and SOPs, as well as assisting colleagues with stock availability queries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Pick orders as directed by the Operations Manager.
* Check goods received and process receipts according to GRN policies.
* Inspect stock for damage and report any issues to the Warehouse and Transport Manager.
* Ensure adherence to standard warehouse operating procedures.
* Operate a forklift and perform daily maintenance on assigned machinery.
* Safely operate the forklift to transport orders and materials to designated areas within the branch.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the warehouse through housekeeping duties.
* Manage traffic for incoming and outgoing transport, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
* Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times.
* Complete daily forklift checks and report any damage or issues.
* Carry out PSI counts as instructed.
* Trade Counter Support.
* Perform additional tasks as required to meet business needs.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Warehouse Assistant role.
* A valid Counterbalance Forklift License.
* Reach Truck License.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
All duties and tasks are undertaken and performed in an efficient, accurate manner resulting in excellent service provision.
* Compliance with Health and Safety Laws and Regulations.
* Pick accuracy in relation to product, quantity and quality.
* Reporting of damage to stock and / or equipment.
* Compliance to 5S warehouse maintenance routines.
