We are seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Healthcare Scientist in the Microbiology discipline at William Harvey Hospital. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 12 months.
Our laboratory currently holds UKAS Accreditation and is an IBMS training laboratory.

The laboratory operates 7 days a week, from 8.30 am to 5 pm. We are looking for applicants willing to work various shifts, including 1:4 weekends, bank holidays, and late shifts until 7 pm. We are open to flexible working options within core hours, with no night shifts required.
The role is based within Microbiology, supporting Biomedical Scientists with specimen reception, and the preparation and examination of biological samples.
Ideal candidates will possess good keyboard skills, high accuracy, and a team-oriented, flexible approach. Laboratory experience or an aptitude for science is desirable. Candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent, with a keen eye for detail.
