Salary: From £17.00 per hour (circa £37,000 per year based on 42 hours) + Overtime

Barker Ross is recruiting for a hands-on Agricultural Maintenance role within a well-established and growing agricultural equipment business based in Corby.
This position is ideal for someone with farm-based experience or a background in agricultural machinery, mechanical repairs, plant fitting, irrigation systems, or general farm maintenance. We welcome applicants who have worked as Farm Workers with machinery experience, Farm Mechanics, Machinery Fitters, Agricultural Engineers, Irrigation Engineers, or Plant Fitters.
Strong hands-on experience is more important than formal qualifications.
The Role
You will be responsible for assembling, servicing and repairing specialist farm equipment used directly on farms, including:
Hose reels
Irrigation booms
Water pumps
General agricultural machinery
The role is mainly workshop-based in Corby, with occasional travel across the UK to carry out servicing and breakdown support during peak seasons.
This is a practical, varied role offering long-term stability and the opportunity to develop further skills within agricultural equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and prepare agricultural machinery
Carry out servicing and mechanical repairs
Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
Diagnose mechanical faults and replace parts
Carry out routine maintenance and inspections
Attend on-site breakdowns when required
Complete service documentation accurately
What We're Looking For
Hands-on experience working on farms or agricultural machinery
Strong mechanical knowledge
Experience maintaining or repairing equipment
Practical and problem-solving mindset
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Full UK driving licence
Desirable (Not Essential)
Engineering qualification (Agricultural or Mechanical)
Experience with irrigation systems
Basic hydraulic or electrical knowledge
Welding or fabrication experience
Forklift licence
Working Hours
Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00
Friday: 08:00-16:30
42 hours per week
