Territory Manager - Ophthalmic Pharmaceuticals

Products: Glaucoma * Cataract / Ocular Surgery * Retinal * Dry Eye

Ideal for: Medtech sales reps OR pharmaceutical reps looking to break into ophthalmology

Location: Field-based

ABPI: Not essential, but will significantly enhance your application

The Company

Our client is a respected leader in ophthalmic innovation, partnering with clinicians nationwide to deliver premium surgical and pharmaceutical eye-care solutions. Their pharma portfolio spans Glaucoma, Cataract/Ocular Surgery, Retinal and Dry Eye, all known for their clinical impact and market-leading quality.

A fantastic opportunity for ambitious medtech or pharmaceutical sales professionals to step into the ophthalmology sector with a company committed to growth and clinical excellence.

The Role

As Territory Manager, you will be a key clinical and commercial contact across your region, working directly with ophthalmologists and having a real impact on patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

5. Engage stakeholders across NHS and private hospitals:
6. Ophthalmologists, surgeons, pharmacists, procurement, specialist nurses, theatre managers, hospital management, cataract & glaucoma leads and transformation leads
7. Drive growth of the glaucoma portfolio at ICB level - pathways, guidelines, formulary wins
8. Majority focus on secondary care, plus activity in primary care and retail pharmacy
9. Proactively prospect new business, build relationships, and secure long-term commercial wins

This role is ideal for those with medtech theatre exposure or pharma reps wanting to develop deeper clinical expertise in a specialist market.

Requirements

10. ABPI qualification beneficial but not essential, it will strengthen your application
11. Sales experience within primary or secondary care
12. Strong prospecting ability and a track record of winning new business
13. Experience with formulary inclusion, pathways, guidelines (advantageous)
14. Full UK driving licence

Package

15. Basic salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (upper end for relevant industry experience)
16. Commission: 20% uncapped (approx. £9,000)
17. Car: Executive company car or £700/month allowance
18. Benefits: Vitality healthcare, 10% pension, laptop, mobile, 25 days holiday + additional benefits
