Graham Eyes opened his first butcher's shop in 1982, at the age of 21. His first shop was on Rufford Road, Crossens, Southport. With over 30 years’ experience as a successful high class butchers, as well as caterers, we are proud to be able to offer our customers meat and produce of the highest standard. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to manage at our store within SPAR.
More About the Role
As a Butchery Manager of Graham Eyes High Class Butchers, you will manage at our store within SPAR. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards in all areas including; stock, food safety procedures including recording information, fresh meat and prepacked meat displays, staff morale and customer satisfaction.
Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing
1. Ordering and managing stock - including stock taking
2. Effectively developing and managing a small team
3. Ensuring food safety procedures are adhered to within the butchery department
4. Maintaining company standards in window display and upright counter display
5. Managing staff rotas
6. Cutting meat to order
7. Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
8. Performing quality inspections on meats and other products
9. Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, accepting orders or payments, and offering helpful advice with a smile
10. Coordinating deliveries or order pickups
11. Developing the sales and profit
12. Controlling waste

13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
14. Excellent people management skills
15. Managerial or supervisory experience is essential
16. Be helpful and friendly and feel comfortable working with the public
17. To be enthusiastic, committed and self motivated
18. Adopts a ‘can do’ attitude to challenging situations
19. Have a flexible approach to working hours
20. Previous experience in retail is preferred but not essential
21. Basic Food Hygiene certificate is preferred but not essential
