The Trust is seeking a Specialist Grade Perinatal Psychiatrist with expertise in Perinatal Mental Health to join the Specialist Perinatal Service covering Oldham, Rochdale and North Manchester. If AC Approved, the post holder will have Responsible Clinician responsibility for community patients.
Cluster 3 includes the maternity unit at North Manchester General Hospital, Oldham Hospital and Tameside Hospital. Cluster 3 is based at Central Park.

Main duties of the job
* Provide medical leadership in Perinatal Psychiatry in Cluster 3 alongside the two substantive Perinatal Consultants.
* Serve as a medical expert, taking a lead in service development and demonstrating excellent influence and joint working skills.
* Provide first-line generic assessments to any patient referred to the service and ensure all team members can offer these assessments.
* Provide medical support and supervision to the team.
* Contribute to the development of the service in conjunction with other team members.
* Supervise junior doctors acting within the team.
* Participate in audit, service development and evaluation in collaboration with the Governance Team and the Trust's Research and Development Team.
* Participate in and organise teaching within the cluster and at agency interfaces, including liaison services, urgent care services, social care and maternity.
Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
* Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
Clinical Skills
* Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.

£100,870 to £111,441 a year, pro rata.
