We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join our oncology pharmacy team on a fixed term or secondment until June 2026. This role is ideal for a technician with experience in cancer care or a strong interest in developing skills in this specialist area.
You will support the Cancer Pharmacists in delivering high-quality, patient-centred pharmaceutical care to individuals receiving chemotherapy. The post will primarily focus on the oncology unit, with close working relationships across pharmacy dispensary and aseptic unit.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in planning and managing clinic workload alongside the oncology pharmacist.
* Support service improvement, including process redesign.
* Provide patient education for specific cancer patient groups.
* Ensure timely and accurate supply of chemotherapy and supportive medicines.
* Maintain robust stock control processes and contribute to reducing medicine waste.
* Collaborate with the chemotherapy nursing team and wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
What We Are Looking For
* Registered GPhC Pharmacy Technician with an accredited checking qualification
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and team working abilities
* Experience in cancer care or a keen interest in developing in this area
You will participate in extended hours, weekend and public holiday rotas.
