Area Manager/Chef - Contract Catering within Care Homes
Locations - Sites across Southwest Area
Package - Salary according to experience, company car, laptop and phone provided.
Due to the continued growth within our business Savills Catering are recruiting an experienced Area Manager/Chef to cover a portfolio of contracts within the Care Homes sector across the Southwest Area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the Chef Managers and their teams at each site and the direct point of contact for our clients.
This role will be reporting to the Managing Director, the focus will be on delivering outstanding service, driving sales, managing costs and controlling the financials of the sites. We are looking for an Area Manager with Chef experience that can guide and train people to run and manage a successful profitable site. Some chef duties will be required to cover any shortfall in staff as and when required.
Day to day responsibilities and abilities:
Demonstrate financial acumen, understanding of P&L, labour costs and leadership style.
Driving the improvement, presentation, and production of the meals in each site
Forward thinking, with a can-do attitude to improving all aspects of the meals service to the satisfaction of our clients.
Provide quality of service and health & safety compliance within each site. With a thorough understanding of:
· COSSH
· HACCP
· Food & Kitchen Hygiene
· Allergens
Assisting Chef Managers, motivating, supporting, and developing employees whilst checking quality of service and presentation.
Main Point of contact with clients, to maintain excellent relations and customer focus plus satisfaction across the board.
Demonstrate the ability to influence and gain staff commitment.
Good attention to detail for maintaining hygiene and implementing excellent cleaning protocols within the kitchen environment.
High level of planning and organisational skills, flexible working approach - this is not a 9am-5pm role.
A chef background is essential, and a complete Enhanced DBS will be required. The candidate must be an excellent communicator with a 'can do' attitude and able to manage teams of people effectively. Due to the nature of the role we can only progress candidates that have a Full UK driving licence.
