Overview

We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Consultant to join our Real Estate Advisory team in Manchester. You will help clients think strategically about how their buildings and portfolio could be better used to transform the way they work. This may involve discussions with key decision-makers to understand strategy and vision, using data to provide analysis of real estate portfolios, or developing robust business cases to unlock funding opportunities. You will need to think on your feet, resolve complex problems, and maintain excellent attention to detail. Each client has unique requirements, challenges, and goals, so no two projects are the same.

Our Real Estate Advisory team works nationwide across health, education, defence, local government, central government, and commercial sectors. We collaborate with senior leaders and strategic teams to unlock the full potential of client real estate assets, developing strategic vision and transforming complex challenges into opportunities for growth, innovation and resilience. We help public and private sector clients make informed real estate change and investment decisions through Estate Strategies, Business Cases, Real Estate Asset Management, and Workplace Consulting and Change Management.


Responsibilities

* Collaboration and problem solving: work with clients to understand requirements and develop tailored real estate solutions for real problems.
* Research and analysis: conduct in-depth research (e.g., feasibility studies) to support business cases and estate solutions.
* Industry expertise: provide expert advice on latest real estate and sector trends.
* Lead and inspire: guide multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
* Business generation: develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Scotland, identifying opportunities and preparing proposals.
* Stakeholder management: lead stakeholder engagement on built environment projects, ensuring alignment of requirements to support project outcomes.

* Strong organisational skills; able to manage objectives and resources to meet commercial requirements.


Qualifications

* Essential: knowledge of either the UK Real Estate industry or the role property plays in underpinning business decisions
* Essential: knowledge of the RICS RIBA stages of a project, in particular stages 0-2
* Essential: 2+ years experience in a consultancy and/or client-side environment
* Essential: experience authoring strategic documentation such as Business Cases and/or Estate Strategies for Real Estate change and investment
* Essential: knowledge and track record within at least one of Defence / Local Government / Central Government / Healthcare / Education / Commercial / Developer
* Essential: effective communicator who listens and understands client needs
* Desirable: knowledge of HM Treasury Green Book 5-Case Model
* Desirable: relevant industry qualification or degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Surveying or similar
* Desirable: Security Clearance (SC) or willingness to attain clearance
* Desirable: leadership abilities and experience in managing teams and delivering projects on time and within budget
* Desirable: financially literate with ability to conduct financial analysis and appraise investment options
* Desirable: proficient with Excel and Power BI for data analysis
* Desirable: understanding of benefits management
