Job Description

The HR Reporting & Data Manager will enable the delivery of HR Management Information through data visualisation and detailed analysis, supporting data-driven decision making and improvements. Managing and compiling reports and returns to internal and external stakeholders. Providing high-quality analysis and reporting on a range of HR data.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Provide quality people data to senior leaders in the MCA, including the Executive Team People Group and directorate management board to inform decision making.
* Managing the delivery of HR Management Information (MI), using technical knowledge and data manipulation/reporting skills to produce regular and ad-hoc reports.
* Manage the design, development, maintenance and presentation of a People MI Suite, utilising Python, Power BI, and other tools.
* Validate, improve, and innovate on the MCA use of analytical tools and techniques for HR data, using automation, where possible.

Person specification

To succeed in this role, you have exceptional Excel skills, including advanced skills in using complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualisation techniques. Extensive experience in the use of PowerBI is crucial for this role, you can demonstrate experience in designing interactive and insightful dashboards using Power BI. You have experience of visualisation and analysis to support data-driven decision-making.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in varying circumstance are pivotal for this role. You have the ability to explain analytical outcomes to non-specialists clearly and effectively.

You have strong analytical skills and can interpret data, identify trends, correlations, and provide meaningful insights to support data-driven decision-making. You have demonstrable experience of being proactive and innovative, with a focus on continuous improvement.

If not currently qualified in Python, there will be a development opportunity to work towards this when in post.

Additional Information

This role will be based in the Southampton HQ.MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work.

The expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace or out on official business. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.

Occasional travel (including overnight stays) within the UK may be required.

Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week. Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least three days per week.

The sift is due to take place 14 - 15 July 2025.

Stage 2: Interview

At interview stage, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile elements:

You will also be required to create and deliver a presentation. Guidance will be provided if you are invited to interview.

Interviews are likely to be held 28 - 29 July 2025.
