Optical Assistant
Salary up to £25,708.80 per annum (rising to £26,644.80 per annum once you have completed our Front of House Development course)
We are looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join our team in Egham for 5 days / 40 hours per week (Monday to Saturday 9am – 5:30pm).
As an Optical Assistant at Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists, you will be the first point of contact for clients, greeting them in person or over the phone with a smile to make them feel valued. You will listen to their needs and work closely with your Practice Manager, Optometrists, Audiologists, and Dispensing Opticians to provide the best solutions. The role requires experience in dispensing single focus, multi-focal lenses, and contact lenses, along with strong IT skills, and excellent communication and listening skills to build relationships with clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service.
2. Assist customers in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and optical products.
3. Dispense single focus, multi-focal, and contact lenses.
4. Schedule appointments and manage bookings.
5. Maintain product displays and ensure the store is tidy.
6. Handle administrative tasks including payments and orders.

What We Offer:
We provide a supportive and enjoyable working environment, including a Front of House Development course covering client journey, contact lenses, eye anatomy, spectacle frames, and lenses. You will participate in workshops on optical screening equipment and basic repairs, and explore audiology solutions. You will also visit Zeiss Offices in Birmingham to learn about Zeiss lenses. The training concludes with a practical application in a learning environment under guidance.
