If it is identified that you require sponsorship to undertake this role your application may be withdrawn We are currently recruiting for a home-based Peer Support Worker to join our East of England Gambling Harms team on a fixed 12 month basis. Research demonstrates the powerful impact that lived experience has on improving recovery outcomes, therefore we are looking for an individual with lived experience who would like to make a significant difference by providing support and interventions to people experiencing gambling related harms. We are seeking an individual who can engage and support the people served by the first NHS Gambling Service in this region (East of England Gambling Harms Clinic). This is an exciting time to be joining the service – with scope for creativity and personal development in this role, with a manageable workload as part of a regional specialist team. Please take a look at our homepage for more information about our service: East of England Gambling Service :: Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (eofegamblingservice.nhs.uk) Advert You will be working alongside the gambling harms operational team to provide engagement support to service users receiving treatment within the East of England Gambling Harms Clinic and service user involvement initiatives. Responsible for developing the service user support groups with a view to facilitating service users to become ‘experts by experience’ and to offer support and limited supervision to this group. There is a balance of one to one intervention, group work, and the development and implementation of service user involvement initiatives, with direct access to senior clinicians and a multi-disciplinary team to aid your development. A summary is below: To engage and support those receiving treatment within the clinic Provide peer support to those engaged with the clinic on a group and one-to-one basis Develop, implement, and manage service user involvement / peer support group to allow for those successfully completing treatment to promote visible recovery and support others Manage and coordinate the consistent delivery of peer support/service user group Create and assist with developing links with partner organisations / community support agencies to support those in treatment. To signpost to local services and empower service users to build their community networks and recovery capital.
