Overview
Coopers Fire design, manufacture, install and service innovative and bespoke Smoke and Fire Curtains for buildings. Our mission is to save lives through quality and innovative products and to raise awareness of effective fire protection solutions.
We are looking for Field based Service Engineer in Portsmouth to attend sites and conduct the following tasks although not limited to: Planned Preventative Maintenance to our bespoke Fire and Smoke Curtains, Emergency Callouts, Upgrades/Repairs and Installation and Commissioning works.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Carrying out routine/planned scheduled maintenance work
* Responding to breakdown and equipment faults
* Diagnosing breakdown problems and carry out first time fix
* Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly prior to signing off
* Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues
* Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
* Ensure van stock is controlled
* To complete timesheets/expenses on a regular basis and submit on time
* To ensure PPE is adequate for the H&S purpose and arrange for new kit to be ordered when required
* Perform with an understanding of business requirements and support all continuous improvement activities
* Respond to customer enquiries in a professional manner
* Represent Coopers Service Team as an ambassador at all times
* Use Simpro to record activities
* Ensure report forms are completed accurately
* Carry out such additional responsibilities as may be considered necessary by the Management Team
Essential Skills and Experience
* Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
* Good customer service & communication skills
Desirable
* Electrically qualified 18th Edition
* Experience working with Fire Curtains, Smoke curtains, Metal shutters or other similar technologies
* Experience in a field based technical role
* Experience of working at heights
