Join to apply for the Consultant Anaesthetist role at NHS Highland.
Location: Raigmore Hospital and National Treatment Centre (NTC-H), Inverness.
Salary: £111,430 - £148,064 (per annum, pro rata).
This is a substantive post on a ten programmed activity basis (8 DCC: 2 SPA) with the potential for clinical commitments at the NTC-H. The department supports a productive, sustainable, state-of-the-art service with opportunities for research, education and innovation links with local stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical duties within the Anaesthesia Department, including a mix of general and regional anaesthesia.
* Contribute to a ~1:18 on-call rota covering emergency services across different specialties and age groups.
* Provide clinical supervision to Anaesthetic trainees rotating to Raigmore on the North of Scotland Deanery rotation.
* Support the development of quality improvement projects and efficient work streams.
* Engage with services at Raigmore and the National Treatment Centre Highland to expand and sustain services.
Qualifications
* GMC Specialist Register or within six months of anticipated award of a CCT at the time of interview.
* Experience in General & Regional Anaesthesia is welcomed.
* Desirable: involvement in educational supervision and research initiatives.
About the Team and Setting
The Anaesthetic Department comprises 35 Consultants (including 7 intensivists), 7 Speciality Doctors and 16 Specialty Trainees. The NTC-H hosts the entire Eye Care Service and additional operating capacity for Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology, with a 24-bed ward on site.
