Senior Ward Sister/Ward manager for 25 bedded intermediate care facility based on ward f5 at St Luke's Hospital, Bradford
Main duties of the job
Management of intermediate care unit at st.Lukes site which is a nurse led unit supported by our geriatrician's.
Candidate will work both clinically and non clinically to provide rehabilitation to patients requiring therapy who are medically stable .
Duties will include the leadership of the nursing team and demonstrate a passion for high standards of nursing care for elderly patients.

Job responsibilities

Nursing high standards of nursing care providing assurance of ongoing improvement.
Work in collaboration with the other wards in the CSU ensuring positive patient experience.
Maintain high levels of compliance with staff training and education engaging with out practice development team.
Investigation of complaints and incidents ensuring learning identified is shared across the CSU
Management of clinical services in the unit. Ensuring safe staffing levels, engaging in recruitment as required.
Sickness and performance management of employees based on the unit.
Management of Budget ensuring service is managed witching the allocated budget allocated
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Understands how acute medicine patient flow works
Experience
* Acute medical nursing experience at Band 6
* Regularly in charge of a ward
* Delivered improvement in patient care
* Worked within a multidisciplinary team
Skills
* Ability to prioritise and problem solve
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* BLS trained
* Ability to make decisions and escalate appropriately
* BLS trained
* Ability to make decisions and escalate appropriately
* Ability to challenge practice and support staff
* Knowledge and skills in Elderly and Intermediate Care
* Additional clinical skills e.g. cannulation, phlebotomy, intravenous drugs
Qualifications
* Teaching and Assessing in practice qualification (FLIP/ENB 6590 /998)
* Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience/ working towards
