Experienced Gardener – Vacancy
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a gardener to join our team working in a wonderfully eclectic and romantic organic and regenerative garden set in beautiful English countryside around a Georgian house in Bath, Somerset. It is a mix of herbaceous borders, topiaries, ponds and rills, a walled garden with fruit trees, greenhouses, flower and vegetable beds, all surrounded by 40 acres of wild flower meadows and woodland.
The person needs to be trained to RHS level 2 or similar and have had some experience working in a private estate and be happy to perform a wide range of gardening jobs, with a happy, adaptable and can-do attitude.
Responsibilities
* Propagation of vegetables and annual flowers
* Seed saving
* Management of a wide variety of plant borders
* Hazel plant staking
* Pruning fruit trees, roses
* Mowing and strimming
* Topiary clipping
* Bulb planting
Qualifications
* Trained to RHS level 2 or similar
* Experience working in a private estate
* A genuine passion for horticulture and plants
* Ability to maintain plant health using regenerative practices and natural farming methods; gardening for wildlife is important
* Full driving licence is essential
* Nice to have: trained at Dixter
Working Arrangements
Hours worked: Monday to Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm
Salary: A good salary is on offer, commensurate with experience
