Are you an experienced Chef with a passion for cooking that borders on obsessive? Do you dream of working in a kitchen that's more like a high-stakes culinary laboratory than a boring old workplace? Then you might just be the culinary mastermind we're looking for
As the newest member of our team at Olive Grove Restaurant, you'll be responsible for dazzling our guests with your culinary skills, creating delicious and visually stunning dishes that will have them licking their plates clean. You'll work closely with the owners, managers and front of house team to plan and execute menus that are truly exceptional, using only the freshest and most high-quality ingredients.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage kitchen operations, ensuring authentic preparation and presentation of traditional and modern Greek cuisine.
* Develop and update the menu regularly, incorporating seasonal ingredients and regional Greek specialties.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
* Oversee inventory, ordering, and proper storage of food supplies and kitchen equipment.
* Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation across all dishes.
* Collaborate with restaurant management on food costing, budgeting, and supplier relationships.
* Monitor kitchen staff performance, conduct evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Innovate new dishes and dining experiences that reflect Greek culinary traditions while appealing to local tastes.
* Address customer feedback related to food and implement improvements as needed.
Job Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous chef, preferably in a Greek or Mediterranean restaurant.
* Knowledge of Greek cuisine, ingredients, cooking techniques, and food culture.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse kitchen team.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
* Understanding of food cost management, kitchen budgeting, and inventory control.
* High standards of cleanliness and food safety (HACCP certification is a plus).
* Creativity in menu development and a passion for Greek gastronomy.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £29,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
