Kitchen Assistant Contact Permanent NJC Grade 1 Points 2, £5,669.10 per annum 10 hours per week Westlands First School is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team. You will work as part of the catering team to ensure the smooth running of the school kitchen, providing nutritious and appealing meals for children aged 3 to 9 years. This role involves preparing and serving meals, washing up and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, and cook balanced meals in accordance with school guidelines and dietary requirements under the direction of the Kitchen manager Serve meals to children in a timely and friendly manner. Work collaboratively with the rest of the catering staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas. Adhere to food safety regulations and allergy guidance. Complete daily cleaning routines and kitchen checks. Comply with all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding. Requirements: Relevant catering qualifications (e.g., Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent) is desirable. Experience working in a school or similar catering environment is desirable. Knowledge of food allergies and dietary requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent time management and organizational skills. A positive and child-friendly attitude.
