What you’ll be doing
As a Technical Writer, you’ll be at the heart of how facilities and projects operate, ensuring instructions are accurate, safe, and aligned with real‑world plant conditions. You’ll gather insights directly from stakeholders and site walk‑downs to shape clear, compliant documentation used by a wide range of teams.
* Liaise with engineers and operators, carrying out plant and system walk‑downs to validate the accuracy of maintenance and operating instructions.
* Create new maintenance procedures and review, update, and refine existing ones to ensure they reflect current operations.
* Prepare and amend operating instructions for projects and facilities, implementing physical document updates and fulfilling Management Appointments relevant to the post.
What you’ll bring
You’ll combine technical understanding with excellent communication skills, enabling you to translate complex operational detail into concise, structured documents that teams can trust. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help maintain safe and compliant operations across the programme.
* An HNC in Engineering (or equivalent) with experience in a technical or operational environment, ideally supported by solid site knowledge.
* Must have a full grasp of at least one (industrial) technical discipline, i.e. engineering apprenticeship, or be able to demonstrate (through vocational qualifications) equivalent technical knowledge.
* Strong analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and transform it into clear procedural content.
* A collaborative approach, confidence engaging with stakeholders, and a commitment to producing high‑quality documentation that meets strict standards.
